Garlic & Greens Pizza

Pizza with a garlic & mozzarella base topped with parmesan & lemon arugula.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 12 inch pizza crust
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (divided)
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 large fresh mozzrella ball
  • 3-4 slices prosciutto (optional)
  • 2 heaping handfulls arugula
  • 1 tsp+ fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • salt & pepper

Equipment

  • Pizza Stone (preferable but not necessary)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven according to crust/dough instructions. If you are using a pizza stone, let it preheat in the oven.
  2. Brush half of the olive oil over the rolled out crust, add more if you want.
  3. Sprinkle on the minced garlic, oregano + a pinch of sea salt.
  4. Rip up mozzarella ball and spread it around the pizza, do the same with the prosciutto if you are adding it.
  5. Bake in the oven according to dough/crust instructions.
  6. While the pizza is baking toss arugular with the rest of the olive oil, a little fresh squeezed lemon juice, grated parmesan + salt & pepper.
  7. Remove pizza from oven and top with arugula salad. ENJOY!

Notes

  1. This is really easy to customize, you can adjust the amount of garlic to your taste, decide if you want prosciutto, another meat, or to make it vegetarian, you can skip the lemon in the dressing if you don't love the idea of lemon with pizza and you can also cut back on the oil if you prefer lower calories, just know it will be a bit drier! 
  2. I used a store bought ball of pizza dough and the cook time was about 15 minutes. Just make sure you follow the instructions of whatever dough you are using and keep an eye on it.
