Cheesy grilled turkey chicken club sandwich

Where to even begin with this post. It covers so many things I love, all for very different reasons– hurricane relief support, a new way to discover cleaner dairy, and a really effin’ cheesy sandwich. For those of you not so familiar with me or my blog I currently reside in California, but my heart is always at least halfway in Texas where I moved here from. Going about my normal routine during these hurricane’s (especially Harvey) felt awful. I know I should be so lucky to be away from the crazy storms, and don’t misunderstand me – I am SO grateful I stayed dry and my home and belongings are safe, but being away from what feels like home and watching the devastation left me feeling absolutely helpless. I cried every night seeing updates from friends and family affected. It didn’t feel right just going to work and being social and enjoying life, I felt like I should be doing something, anything to help.
I did my part sharing helpful information and news with social media friends, I donated to a children’s hospital, I provided moral support but it just didn’t feel like enough. But what am I supposed to do if I can’t leave work and don’t have the means to support in a big way? I know I can’t be the only one who felt like this.

I am so excited and so proud to have partnered up with Real California Milk to bring relief to families in Texas and Florida. See that “Real California Milk” stamp on the below dairy products? If you spot it in your grocery store between today and December 31, 2017 snap a photo and share it on any social media channel tagging @RealCaliforniaMilk and hashtagging #SealsForGood and Real California Milk will donate $5 to the national milk drive to support families affected by the hurricane, up to $20,000. Best part? This is free for you to do!

Alright, on to my next love in this post. Lately I’ve been watching lot’s of food documentaries on Netflix and I’d be lying if I said they haven’t completely changed the way I’ve been thinking about what I eat and how I grocery shop. Sources of my food have become increasingly important, especially in animal products. The amount of hormones being added and fed to animals nowadays is quite frankly terrifying. On the other hand I LOVE cheese and animal products so much I don’t think I could ever part with them so instead I’m opting to find better sourced products and support healthy sustainable producers. Real California Milk has made this easier for me as they only put their stamp on dairy products that have come from California family dairy farms committed to serving cleaner dairy products. You can find it on certain dairy products at your grocery store, and don’t forget to share the seal before 2017 ends!
Now let’s get to my longest love of all here, CHEESY FOOD. I made these sandwiches using only dairy with the Real California Milk stamp of approval, organic veggies, and hormone free all natural lunch meats. On the topic of focusing a little more on what I’m consuming which has included trying to make sure if I have an unhealthy meal I at least add some extra protein and veggies to it to keep fuller and at least provide some nutrients. So what to do when you want a really cheesy grilled cheese? Make it a grilled cheese club – super yummy and more filling and well rounded than a straight grilled cheese sandwich.

2 slices bread1 tbsp butter
1 slice, or layer, Pepperjack cheese
1 slice, or layer, Cheddar cheese1 thin layer turkey meat
1 thin layer grilled chicken or chicken deli meat

DIRECTIONS:Spread 1/2 tbsp butter on each slice of bread. Lay one slice of bread, butter side down on a skillet.
